It wasn’t long after high school that Marcus found himself lost in the world, in a family of scientists and the pressure of the success of his many older siblings he felt he would never be recognized for his work and efforts. He expected a lot from himself, to leave his mark on this world. It wasn’t until he met Richard, Charles and Oskan did he stop and really consider what he wanted for himself. And that’s when he decided to document and re tell the lives of the three friends of Eltas, painting each and every character into his own world with the hopes of letting the real world know what it was like being in such a difficult, life changing situation.

Findependence Day by Jonathan Chevreau Book Blast - Win a $25 Amazon Gift Card!

Title: Findependence Day
Author: Jonathan Chevrau
Publisher: Trafford
Pages: 290
Genre: Businesss
Format: Kindle/Hardcover/Paperback

Get rich slowly! Financial independence is a marathon, not a sprint. The financial crisis revealed the hazards of financial illiteracy. Governments desperately want citizens to become financially independent so they’ll be less of a burden on them. Findependence Day presents personal finance in a “can’t put down” story format easily digested by young adults entering the work force and the world of money. Because money problems often cause marital breakups, it focuses on the financial journey of a young couple who experience the usual ups and downs of job loss, buying homes, raising children, investing and pensions, starting businesses, coping with stock market volatility and more.

The secrets of financial independence are critical wherever you are in the financial life cycle:
• Newlyweds embarking on family formation will discover the importance of financial planning.
• Debt-plagued graduates will be motivated to embrace “guerrilla frugality.”
• Home-owners will learn the foundation of financial independence is a paid-for home.
• Those in their first jobs will embrace employer 401(k) plans, traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs.
• New parents will discover the need for life insurance and saving for children’s education.
• Mid-life investors will learn how to cut costs in their portfolios while benefiting from the expertise of financial planners.
• Those near retirement will learn about advanced concepts like annuities and Asset Dedication.

Jonathan Chevreau is the editor of MoneySense magazine, former personal finance columnist for the Financial Post and author of nine financial books, including The Wealthy Boomer: Life After Mutual Funds. He’s active in social media and blogs at www.findependenceday.com.

It looks like someone left the door to the nether region open again, and reporter Molly Martindale has got another batch of otherworldly supplicants who need her help. Not long ago, Molly quite literally went to hell to help secure peace for her friend Dennis, who was born Buddy Parker in the 1920s in her beloved, adopted hometown of Oxbow, Florida. Oxbow has always felt charmed to Molly—that is, if she doesn’t count the ghostly visitors who turn her world upside down or the recent return of her ex-boyfriend Greg Richards, who brings with him the scourge of illicit drugs and a burning need to get even with her. Molly is working on acquainting her best friend Dana with Dennis’s memory. He is the father Dana has never known but always resented. Molly must tread carefully, all too aware that she could easily lose her best friend in the process. What’s more, things heat up when Dana meets Glenn Morrison, the wheelchair-bound veteran Molly kind of thinks of as “hers.” But soon Molly finds herself threatened from all sides, as residents of hell plead for her help yet again. In this sequel to Bitter Secrets, only time will tell if she can deal with worldly and supernatural problems as she fights her newest unholy foes—the advent of drugs into her world, decades of lies involving the powerful St. Claire family, and the shadows of her past.

1. Can we start out by telling us whether you are published for the first time or are you multi-published?

Full Circle is my second book, a sequel to Bitter Secrets.

2. When you were published for the first time, which route did you go – mainstream, small press, vanity published or self-published and why or how did you choose this route?

I tried for years to find a publisher and concentrated on small presses mostly, thinking it might be easier. I finally turned to self publishing so I could get things going.

3. How long did it take you to get published for the first time once you signed the contract?

Well, unfortunately I’m a foot dragger from way back! I also am still working so any delays were really my fault. But to answer the question, it was probably about a year. In addition to my own slowness, I opted for a developmental edit which takes a while to complete.

4. How did it make you feel to become published for the first time and how did you celebrate?

I remember getting my first actual book in my hand and showing it to my mother. I tend to be kind low key but it was a great feeling of accomplishment – and a feeling of responsibility to the people who (hopefully) would actually read it.

5. What was the first thing you did as far as promotion when you were published for the first time?
I had a book signing at a local store. The owner was extremely helpful and it was a really great event!

Patty Brant honed her writing skills as a small-town newspaper reporter and editor in a rural South Florida county. Born in Canton, Ohio, she lives with her husband and daughters in Clewiston, Florida. Her first book, Bitter Secrets, earned a finalist position in the 2013 Indie Excellence Book Awards.

Reviews:

1.    “Surprising, suspenseful, and utterly superb read….Any attempt to describe the book in a single statement is difficult, but the book mixes uncommon palettes and manages a masterpiece with it.” Self-Publishing Review.

2.    [The SHIVA Syndrome is] very highly recommended, indeed; especially for thriller and sci-fi readers who have become deluged with too much predictability and who seek cutting-edge action, believable protagonists, and action that is solidly intense throughout. Midwest Book Review

3.    “…a unique mixture of paranormal, science fiction, thriller and mystery. The story was amazingly developed to keep the reader attentive and on their toes constantly and always guessing where the plot is heading up until the very end.” LittlePinkCrayon

4.    “THE SHIVA SYNDROME rewards the reader with a return to intelligent speculative fiction writing in the vein of Crichton, Rollins and Cussler.” darkmediaonline.com

5.    “Bottom line: “The Shiva Syndrome” is a very intense and detail rich novel – a book I could easily see being made into a film (Christopher Walken as Grimes?). I do recommend this book to sci-fi fans, and readers who love a well-written book packed full with action.” Around the World in Books

The Shiva syndrome, his debut fiction novel, is a science fiction/paranormal mystery and thriller. Always curious about the unknowns of human experience, he is fascinated with creativity and paranormal abilities. This led to his involvement with Psychology and research into Parapsychology. He has explored paranormal abilities using hypnosis and in-depth interviewing of a wide range of practitioners. Among his prized possessions are a shriveled, mummified banana (a product of one healer’s biopsychokinesis) and a small, curled Austrian teaspoon produced by a German healer while six people sat around him. (see http://alanjoshua.com/biopsychokinesis )

The Shiva Syndrome incorporates his knowledge of Parapsychology and experiences with healers, intuitives, “psychic” sensitives, etc. Unsurprisingly, he is a science fiction fan and has been influenced by such writers as Asimov, Bradbury, Crichton, Heinlein, Serling, and the extraordinary genius of Phillip Dick. As an avid Star Trek fan, he is fond of contradicting Gene Roddenberry, believing that human consciousness and its potentials are “the final frontier.” If you have questions for me, I would be glad to answer them–time permitting. I’d like to hear from you if you’ve had any paranormal experiences.

I was born and raised in Danville, Il, a small town about 2 hours outside of Chicago. My parents, J.W. and Dizer Brown instilled values and principles of life in me at an early age. I enlisted into the Army 10 days after graduating high school and the discipline I received added to my upbringing, shaping me into the man I am today. My love for poetry began through hip hop. I had aspired to become the greatest rapper of all time! Alongside the music, I would write little poems about anything from my surroundings, to my feelings, to my experiences. Eventually, those "little poems" turned into pieces of my life. Poetically Baring My Soul is my very first book. It provides a testimony to the trials and tribulations I've faced, my growth into manhood, and expressions of my spirit, soul, and body. I wrote this book to honor God with this gift, glorify Him, and to connect with others who may share in my walk through life. I am a man of faith. I am confident that my poems will explain my purpose, provide insight, and give readers a honest look into my heart.
